Dr. German E. Corso

Dr. German Corso is a medical doctor, trained and board certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. Dr. Corso did his Psychiatry residency in Saint Louis, and then joined UT Southwestern Medical school for his fellowship in Child and Adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Corso has participated in different research initiatives in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and has various publications. Dr. Corso is the Medical director at Tropical Texas Behavioral Health Harlingen Clinic where he practices as Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He holds a position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UTRGV school of medicine and is actively involved in the education of medical students and training of residents in psychiatry and primary care. Dr. Corso is cofounder of Shrink Box podcast, participating actively in the discussion of relevant mental health topics affecting society. He is honored to provide evidence-based treatment for your child and the highest standards of psychiatric care in the field with focus on empathy and compassion towards you, your child and your family’s needs

About Our Clinic

Welcome to Dr. Corso’s ADHD and Behavioral Disorders clinic. Dr. Corso is looking forward to evaluating and treating your child, providing a comprehensive systemic approach that enhances your child’s wellness.

Dr. Corso will perform an initial diagnostic evaluation and formulate an evidence-based treatment plan for your child that may include taking medications, skills training and/or participating in Psychotherapy. Dr. Corso advocates for medications in instances where the potential benefits outweigh the risks and side effects.

Mental Health is essential in a child’s life and seeking help to evaluate and treat potential disorders is often difficult for patients and families. Dr. Corso offers you a calm and compassionate environment to discuss your case. Whether your child is having an academic problem, behavioral problem or a long-term pattern of behavioral issues affecting functionality, Dr. Corso will develop an empathic treatment plan that involves your child and the family.

Privacy

Dr. Corso does not accept, nor bill, insurance. This means your treatment with Dr. Corso will not become part of your permanent medical record with your insurance company, unless you choose to notify them. In addition, Dr. Corso is not restricted to a set allowable length of session or a set allowable number of visits that may be indicated by your insurance provider. Payment in full is made directly to German Corso MD at the time of service. If you would like to submit your charges to your insurance carrier for reimbursement, a detailed billing statement can be generated at your request.Potential for reimbursement of the session fees by an insurance carrier is dependent on individual insurance agreements and is not the responsibility of Dr. Corso.
